Two Big Sur artists, Sarah Healey and Melissa Lofton, share their individual ridge top views in their newest landscape paintings. Through their masterful use of oil paints, these artists capture the elusive and ever-changing nature of the landscape in Big Sur, distilling its essence into vibrant, abstracted compositions that transport the viewer to a realm of wonder and mystery.
The majority of the paintings on display feature views from the clifftop ridges of Big Sur, where the artists find inspiration in the sweeping canyons and dramatic play of light and shadow. From these lofty perches, they each capture the essence of the landscape in all its grandeur and beauty, creating compositions that are at once ethereal and grounded.
