Jennifer Anderson says of her work: “Nature is a gift. It is up to us to pause and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. My focus on wildlife is hard-wired in my soul, and capturing the beauty that I experience is a gift I do not take for granted. Creating is my time of solace. As I settle into the processes of drawing, painting and printmaking, unique connections form with the subject matter. Creating helps me feel grounded, connected and at peace. Time disappears, yet time is of the essence as the shapes, forms, feathers and fur emerge from the canvas. I express my connection to the natural world through my imagery. I carefully render the eyes, seeking to illustrate more than a portrait of a species. I want my artwork to capture character, mood, and the essence of a being. I want my work to help connect the viewer to the natural world, inner peace, and personal narrative. This show is a celebration of Nature’s Gifts. the gift of beauty, life, creating, and the gift of connection.”
