Stan Robbins

Stan Robbins was raised in Southern California where his father worked in special effects in the film industry in the 1930’s, 40’s, and 50’s. His early exposure to art was with the art used in the studios and the paintings of Edgar Payne, Thomas Moran, and Robert Woods. He studied art at Los Angeles Valley College, BYU, and UCLA as a serious second interest while getting degrees in Industrial Psychology and Statistics.

He has won prizes in student art shows and recognition in professional exhibits. He has exhibited and sold paintings since graduate school, while working in the Hi-tech industry of Silicon Valley. He has worked as an illustrator for an auto racing magazine, done graphic design for publications, and, for a while, moonlighted as a photographer.

Stan has furthered his art studies with Barry John Raybould, Kevin Macpherson, T.A. Lawson, Gay Falkenberry, Skip Whitcomb, and Brian Blood.
