Norma Zeigle Bhaskar

Norma Zeigle Bhaskar
American  1921-2018

Norma Bhaskar was foremost a colorist. Her confident use of bold, vibrant hues coupled with imaginatively compressed architectonic forms fill her paintings with energy and passion. Simultaneously, her modernist sensibilities have an innocent, vulnerable quality, resulting in a unique synergy of strength and delicacy. Bhaskar trained at Chouinard Art Institute, Chicago Art Institute, Corcoran School of Art and The American University. Over the past fifty years she has developed her talent in many mediums (acrylic, oil, watercolor, monotype, collage and clothing design), subjects (landscape, figurative and still lifes), and styles ranging from realism to abstract expressionism.
