Laurent Davidson

Laurent Davidson was born in New York City and at the age of 4 moved with his family to the Loire Valley in France to live in the home of his grandfather, internationally distinguished portrait sculptor Jo Davidson.

Laurent grew up in Saché next door to Alexander Calder. Calder’s daughter married Laurent’s uncle and the whole family lived in that small village of Saché. On his 15th birthday, Calder gave Laurent his favorite pliers encouraging him on the path to Mobile making. Laurent attended the Beaux Arts school in Tours, France.

Working with aluminum and steel, Laurent creates Mobiles and Stabiles for interiors as well as for outdoors. Laurent’s artwork is in numerous art collections throughout the United States and Europe.
