Gael Donovan’s family moved to Carmel just after she was born. Raised in a creative household, she was introduced to painting and the arts at an early age. Gael received a B.A. from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. She also studied art in Japan and with her mother, Linford Donovan, (a member of the CAA until her death in 2003.)

A beloved artist, historian and former Director of the CAA, Gael Donovan passed away in May of 2021.
