For five decades Craig Lauterbach has been capturing the unique qualities of wood in three dimensions, despite having no formal art education or training in composition, design, or in wood temperament. Lauterbach developed a “signature” sculptural style, assembling tiny pieces of a wide variety of woods, with painstaking skill and patience.

His earliest wood creations were functional, one-of-a-kind desks, vessels, coffee tables, and carved mirrors. In the past ten years he has turned to fine art, abstracted sculptural forms on many themes including music, sports, nature, family, wine, and flowing waves. Craig was juried into the CAA in 2021.
