Cindy Wilbur

Cindy’s work is known for its impressionistic or painterly style, favoring serene, pictorial landscapes.  “I prefer to suggest rather than render, simplifying large shapes of color and value, leaving the details to the viewer.  I feel this allows them to explore my paintings the same way I so eagerly explore  my surroundings.  My goal is to convey my feelings through my heart and brush in hope that the viewer will gain the same sense of spirit that inspired me.

Oil is her favorite medium.  After  moving to the Monterey Bay area some 20 years ago she mostly paints landscapes, but occasionally will paint figures and still life.

Southwest Art Magazine, January 2018 issue featured Cindy in a six page article focusing on her work and life as an artist.    Art memberships include:  American Impressionist Society, Signature member.  Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters, Signature member and Oil painters of America.  In 2021 Cindy became an artist member of Carmel Art Association.
