Joined the Carmel Art Association in 1971.

Barclay Ferguson, Viscount of Lamond, served in the Royal Air Force from 1943 to 1947. He graduated from Glasgow in 1951 with a degree in drawing and painting (D.A.). In 1954 he moved to Canada and then to Mexico in 1959, where he attended Institute San Miguel Allende (M.F.A. in Painting and Mural Painting). Before moving to the Peninsula in 1970, he resided in Canada from 1960 to 1969.

His awards include Best of Show at the following competitives: San Diego Art Institute National, 1987; West Coast Biennial, 1987; California State Fair, 1980; Coral Gables National, 1980; Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art, 1973; Northern California, 1972. His commissions include murals for the Atomic Energy Commission of Canada and Instituto Allende of Mexico.
