Constance Coleman's love of art goes back to her childhood in New York where she lived across from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and adored the animal paintings there. She developed her own lifestyle portrait technique after studying at the University of Southern California, the California School of Fine Arts, Cincinnati Art Academy and Chouinard Art Institute. Specializing in animal portraits, Coleman has painted all eleven of Oprah Winfrey's dogs and received a letter from her saying how much she loved the painting.
